THE PROJECT
This project takes us to a recently opened alluvial site in the department of France (45), operated by an industrial group. The overall aim of the plant is to produce washed aggregates. The alluvial raw material is scalped to 80 mm before entering the scrubber to continue the preparation phase. Once the aggregates have been processed, the finished products are sent to construction companies.
NEYRTEC MINERAL SOLUTION
In this alluvial deposit, the aggregates are heavily loaded with clay. To meet the customer’s performance requirements, NEYRTEC MINERAL designed and built an 8-meter long, 2.4-meter wide, 30-ton Roloflux 24×80 silt storage unit. This silt remover is used to remove clays and wash aggregates. The Roloflux is complemented by a trommel to dewater the washed aggregates before conveying them to the screening machine.
PERFORMANCES
Commissioning and supervision of the NEYRTEC MINERAL scrubber took place on site in 2/3 days. With this robust, low-maintenance equipment, the customer washes 150 tons/hour of aggregates. The products are washed and dewatered, the water and 0.4 mm sand are sent for sand treatment, and the clean gravel is conveyed to a screen.

FIND OUT MORE ABOUT AGGREGATES
Aggregates have 3 origins: those from crushed rock are angular, those from alluvial deposits are rounded (or rolled, like pebbles) and artificial granular materials. Also known as aggregates, they are used in the composition of various bound and unbound materials. These are essential elements in the planning, construction and public works sectors.
Their nature, shape and characteristics vary according to deposits and production techniques. Three categories of aggregates can be distinguished: alluvial aggregates, which account for around 40% of total production; solid rock aggregates (eruptive and limestone), which account for 30%; and recycled aggregates, also known as limestone, which account for 25%. They are produced in different grain sizes ranging from 0 to 125 mm.
In France, the annual consumption of aggregates is 350 million tonnes, or 6 tonnes per inhabitant per year, making it one of the most widely exploited resources.
